Jane Chick - Zumba
By day I am an instructor at Lakota East High School. Evenings and weekends I can be found teaching or learning new routines for my passion...Zumba! I competed in Latin Dance before I became a Zumba instructor. When I realized that I could take my Latin moves and combine them with fitness moves I was ecstatic!!
Anne Cantrell - Zumba
I am an energetic Zumba instructor, and I love to dance and stay fit. Luckily, Zumba is the perfect place to do both! I was introduced to Zumba in 2009, and I have to admit I felt a little bit nervous to go to the first class. At the time, I was doing nothing to work out, and I had very little dance experience. I soon realized that there was no reason to be nervous, and I was immediately hooked. My favorite thing about Zumba is that it combines a great cardio workout, toning elements, and of course, DANCE!
Miss Abbie McGill - Tap / Preschool
Abbie McGill received many years of formal dance training from the Carol Young School of Dance. She spent over ten years dancing with teams and a special trio group which were recognized nationally for their award winning performances. Abbie loves to teach tap and has choreographed very competitive and award winning tap routines. She has over 15 years teaching experience beginning her career at the age of 10 as an assistant. Working with children of all ages and levels has been very rewarding for Abbie. She is currently studying to become an RN, having just graduated LPN school. While attending school she still teaches at JCA providing tap instruction for both groups and private classes.
Miss Monica Bowler - Cheer/ Pom
Monica started competitive cheerleading in the 6th grade. She cheered for the Cougars, as well as the ACE All Stars until her senior year of high school. Her team won Nationals in Orlando during her senior year. Not only does Monica have a background in cheerleading, she also has experience in gymnastics.
Monica now coaches the 5th and 6th grace cheerleading squad at Fairfield. She loves to make her practices fun and exciting but also teaches how important focus and dedication are. In cheerleading, she learned the value of team work and hopes to instill that into her students. Monica is excited to join the team at JCA and we are excited to introduce her and her classes!
Amber Stacy - Tae Kwon Do
JCA Dance Academy is excited to announce the addition of Miss Amber Stacy to our staff. Instructor Stacy will be introducing Tae Kwon Do to both children and adults this season. Beginning her studies of this martial arts form in September of 2003, she received her First Degree Black Belt in December of 2006. Now holding a Second Degree Black Belt, Amber will be introducing a very disciplined and focused program to our students. In both her studies and her teaching, she has witnessed the benefits of martial arts training. Changes will occur in behavioral patterns, overall focus and respect. She is anxious to partner with JCA and finds it very rewarding when witnessing the development of these traits in her students.
